Our Treasured Christmas

Well Hello there you!  Welcome to our little Christmas home tour.   We moved into our new home last January and one of the things I could NOT wait to do was decorate for Christmas.  Having a little 2 year old in the home makes Christmas that much more special and I have loved seeing her little face shine bright as we have filled this home with pops of red, green, and white :)  Our decor from previous years was much more focused on blues, silvers, and pastels.  This year we decided to bring back the traditional inspired Christmas and it has made our home feel so very cozy, cherry, and magical.   I hope you enjoy <3

Our dining room is to the right as you enter our home and I just LOVE the white and bright feel it exudes.  We added all the millwork and casing that really helped transform the space while keeping the overall design subtle and timeless. Adding the berry wreaths to the walls, dressing up the table with lots of pretty details, and incorporating that cute little Charlie Brown tree in the left corner filled this room with a joyous, playful, and classy Christmas feel.

I absolutely love the tall ceilings and natural lighting in this home.  It is one of the things that totally sold me when we were looking. Our little 8 foot tree was no longer going to cut it in this new house so after much research, we picked up a 12 footer from Costco and it is by far one of our greatest investments (minus the storage hassle come January ;)).  It was seriously so easy to put together and it's absolutely stunning and perfect next to our cozy white fireplace.

Behind the Living Room is our spacious kitchen.  We added subtle pops of Christmas to drive cohesion between the spaces.  While I'm not a huge cook, it sure makes being in the kitchen much more enjoyable :)  And I absolutely LOVE to entertain.

Our cozy kitchen nook is one of my favorite little places.  I love the shiplap accent wall we had added and the pop of color in our teal hutch brings life to this cute little space.  My favorite Christmas details include the garland Christmas wreaths with the black and white ribbon, the stringed red cherry beads across the hutch, and the pop of red and white in the striped candles.  Can I keep these out all year long? ;)

One of my very favorite Christmas pieces and traditions is bringing out the Nativity Scene that has been in my family for over 20 years.  My dad actually made this for my grandmother when he was younger.  She then passed it down to him for several years and he has now passed it on to me.  One day I will pass it on to my daughter.  It is soooo beyond special and truly the most important decoration.  On Christmas morning, we sing to baby Jesus Happy Birthday <3

Last but certainly not least, sharing some cute details from my daughter's room :)  The colors in her room are much more soft and subtle so instead of going ultra Christmas traditional in her room, I chose to incorporate details that complimented her palette while still giving it some Christmas cheer.  I especially love the little keepsake tree that has a lot of mine and my husband's ornaments from over the years.

I hope you enjoyed this little tour of some of the spaces in our home!  Thank you so much for stopping by.  And if you are interested in some of the sources for items we used in our Christmas decor, check out the details below.  A very warm happy holidays from our family to yours <3

XO,  Kirsten
